It’s finally here! Summer vacation has arrived and the weather is hotter than ever. Rather than participate in the normal summer activities this year, let’s switch it up and have some fun at Chester Skateland. If you are not quite sure what to do while you’re here, don’t worry about it. We have summer fun covered! Here are a few tips for taking your kids skating this summer.
Get Them Excited
Kids learn so much from their parents. Just think about how your kids repeat everything you say, because they love everything about you and want to be just like you. If you are looking to get your child involved in roller skating, show them that you are excited, too!
It’s hard to teach a child to get back up. As they grow up they get used to being picked up when they fall. Maybe you won’t be there while they learn to skate at Chester Skateland. Instead, prepare them to get back on their skates all by themselves. They will listen to you if you encourage them to succeed. Even better, go skating together. If they see you doing it they may feel inclined to keep trying.
A child’s health is what we care about most at Chester Skateland. As a parent, research different safety tips you can teach your child before sending them to skate. There are some obvious ones like always wear a helmet and elbow pads. Another important safety tip is for kids to be aware of their surroundings. Teach them about the different speeds of skating so that they are not in the way of other skaters.
These tips should help you get your child into the skating rink this summer. At Chester Skateland we have instructors who can help teach your child these tips and skills. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. See you in the rink!
